Pastoral Team

Pastor Rob, a native of Richmond, Virginia, has joyfully served as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Petersburg since 2007. He is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College (B.A. Religious Studies), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity), and Virginia Commonwealth University (Clinical Pastoral Education). Over his 34 years in ministry, Pastor Rob has led several Virginia churches, including Coan Baptist Church and Bainbridge Street Baptist Church in Richmond, where he faithfully served as Pastor for

17 years.

Pastor Rob is a proud father to Lauren, Maryanne, Summer, and his late son, Morgan, and a loving grandfather to Isabella, Levi, and Dawson.

Shannon Ellis has been faithfully serving as the Church Administrative Assistant at First Baptist since February 2017, after volunteering with various ministries.

She embraces each day with joy, grateful for the opportunities God brings her way. Shannon’s dedication and cheerful spirit are a blessing to our
